The Buccaneers look to have successfully built a defense around Devin White, Lavonte David, and Vita Vea; the 49ers’ front four is all it is chalked up to be with Nick Bosa, DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, and Dee Ford leading the charge against a poor Bucs’ offensive line.
The first points of the game were scored with just a little over two minutes left in the quarter as Jameis Winston connects with superstar receiver Mike Evans for a 16 yard score. Rookie kicker Matt Gay splits the uprights as the Buccaneers take a 7-0 lead over Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers.
However as the first quarter is set to expire, 49ers’ fullback Kyle Juszczyk finds paydirt on a goal line run from three yards out. Robbie Gould hits the extra point for San Francisco as the Buccaneers and 49ers end the first quarter deadlocked at 7-7 with plenty of time still to play in this week one matchup in Tampa Bay.
