How the Bucs can keep Nassib and Barrett
For the Buccaneers, it is up to head coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht to make sure they are not allowed to walk away from One Buc Place after the end of this season. Both Barrett and Nassib are on the last years of their current deals and will be looking at healthy pay days after this season.

Luckily for the Buccaneers, unlike this past offseason, they will have the money to spend. Even if the Bucs decide to retain quarterback Jameis Winston, they will still have plenty of cap space to play around with and will have enough to re-sign both Nassib and Barrett.
Currently, the Buccaneers have $64.5 million in cap space heading into the 2020 offseason, and even if Winston gets $28-30 million on his next deal, they will still have over $30 million to spend. If Nassib and Barrett lock down the starting jobs long term off the edge, then the Buccaneer are almost guaranteed to part ways with Jason Pierre-Paul as well, which would free an additional $12.5 million in cap space.
The Buccaneers also have other big deal that can be moved on from after this year if they do not produce to the tune of their salaries. Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves is due over $9 million next year, and while he has shown some improvements this year, it has not been enough to prove to the Buccaneers that he is worthy to keep around with youngsters Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean in the pines.
