7 overreactions to Tampa Bay Buccaneers start of season

Jameis Winston has proven he deserves a long term deal
While it is likely that the Buccaneers will hold onto Winston past 2019, that will have more to do with Bruce Arians’ preference towards Winston and his apprehension to be apart of a rebuild at 60 years old. In reality, we have seen predominantly the same Jameis that has been on display over the past four years.

Hot and cold, streaky, inconsistent. This has been the Jameis that we have seen through three weeks thus far for the pewter and red. The Buccaneers still honestly do not know what Winston they will get on a weekly basis, as they could get the one who throws for 300 yards and three scores, or they could get the one who throws three terrible interceptions.
Week one was an utter meltdown, throwing two interceptions that were returned for a touchdown and a good handful of throws that were head scratchers. However last week against the Carolina Panthers, Winston played much more within himself, throwing for one score and just over 200 yards in a conservative performance.
Week three against the Giants was about what to expect from Winston (or what we would like to expect), where he throws for three scores and limits his turnovers to one. While Winston has not quite earned a new contract yet, he could before the season ends if he shows some more consistency under center.
