1.11: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Going with the flavor of the week, it is starting to seem like head coach Bruce Arians is feeling less confident in his support of Winston as the season goes on. It is hard not to lose a bit of hope in your signal caller when he throws five picks in one game as Winston did overseas in London.

It was also reported by The Draft Network’s JC Cornell that Arians is “a big fan of” Louisiana State quarterback Joe Burrow. It just so happens that Burrow was available with the 11th pick in the draft using TDN’s Mock Draft Machine; a match made in heaven.

Burrow could be pegged as the Heisman winner if the college football season were to end today, and he has taken a massive leap forward in his final year of college eligibility with the Tigers. Entering this season as a day-three flyer, Burrow now looks like a first round lock as he is on a torrid pace in the 2019 season.

Finishing last year with just 2,900 yards passing with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions, Burrow completed under 60 percent of his passes. However this year, his second year with the Tigers since transferring from Ohio State, Burrow has already thrown for nearly 2,500 yards passing, 29 touchdowns, and just three interceptions; he is completing an astounding 80 percent of his passes.

As the Buccaneers could potentially be trying to wash themselves clean of Winston and the massive amount of turnovers he has produced, getting a guy like Burrow who has turned the ball over just three times this season may be the appropriate action.
