First thing’s first: Build an Offensive Line

In order to have a successful franchise, you cannot have a substandard offensive line and expect a quarterback to be Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, plain and simple. Build your offensive line and get depth at this position, because believe it or not, you need to protect your quarterback.

More from The Pewter Plank

Right now that’s the biggest issue with those who want to just blame Winston for his play. Draft an offensive lineman and look to add depth in free agency; a few more pieces to the line and this team could play better.

Continue to build the secondary

GM Jason Licht is getting a lot of flack for this, but the old saying goes if you don’t first succeed try and try again. Eventually the Bucs will get the right combo in that defensive backfield, but how many more draft assets have to be used on one position?

If it were up to this writer, place Vernon Hargreaves in the nickel where he has a strong suite, put your best two corners outside the numbers, and get your safeties in place. We all know the secondary have been the most drafted spot use them to their potential and if they don’t work out ditch them and find a replacement that can fit and work out.
