Jameis Winston will cut his turnovers in half

Cutting turnovers in half by a player does not seem like a bold prediction, but when talking about Jameis Winston, it sure is. When the Bucs took on the division rival Carolina Panthers in London prior to the bye week, Winston was responsible for an astounding six turnovers.

More from The Pewter Plank

Throwing five interceptions and losing one fumble on a strip sack where he held the ball for significantly too long, Winston now finds himself on the hotseat. Currently ranked 19th in DVOA, Winston is in the midst of the worst season of his career, never before ranking below 17th in this analytical metric.

If the Buccaneers can even cut down Winston’s turnovers to three (interceptions and forced fumbles combined), then they will consider it progress. However, even three turnovers does not put the pewter and red in great position to win the game.

The good news, eight of Winston’s 11 interceptions have come in just two games, so there is optimism to hang your hat on. The bad news, Winston can have a game like he did two weeks ago at any time, and has shown just as much throughout his career.

Three. Just cut the turnovers down to three this week, Jameis.
