Ronald Jones will finally get the start over Peyton Barber

Despite out-touching Peyton Barber in all but two games this season, the Bucs are still naming Ronald Jones as second string on the depth chart. The bold prediction here is that Jones will be the first horse that the Bucs ride this week in Nashville; this should not even be a question for the pewter and red as Jones has been the far more efficient back in Tampa.

Thus far through the 2019 season, Barber has tallied 242 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground, averaging just three and a half yards per carry. Jones, on the other hand, is averaging over four yards per carry, rushing for 279 yards on the ground and two scores on less carries.

Given that Barber is a free agent after this season and Jones is under contract for two more years, it makes no sense as to why the Bucs are showing such a stubborn commitment to a guy with far less invested into him. It would be different if Barber were out-pacing Jones, but this is not the case in Tampa; it is time to unleash Jones.

Could this be the week the Bucs finally trot number 27 out onto the field first?
