Buccaneers Week 8 mock draft after loss to Titans
By Jacob Holley
At this point, it’s undeniable that the Buccaneers need new life at quarterback.
In all fairness, Jameis Winston hasn’t had much help from his offensive line the past five years, but he showed against the Titans that he is still wildly inconsistent with the ball even when he has a pocket to throw from.

Jason Licht may be tempted, but he won’t resign Winston when he throws nearly as many interceptions as touchdowns. So far this season, Winston has thrown for 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. This is shaping up to be possibly his worst season since he entered the league.
That’s not acceptable for a fifth-year quarterback that was drafted first overall to be the future of the franchise.
Many fans may be looking for Joe Burrow, but he more than likely won’t be available at pick nine.
Jalen Hurts was a mixed bag at Alabama, but since joining OU, he’s been allowed to cut loose and show off his arm and his improvisation abilities. If the Buccaneers were to move on from Jameis Winston, they will more than likely be looking for a player with more mobility in the pocket. With a weak offensive line, Jalen Hurts has a chance to still thrive in that situation.
We will see how he handles adversity after OU’s first loss of the season against Kansas State, but right now he could be the best option at quarterback for the Buccaneers next season.
