WR Rashard Higgins

The Buccaneers do not have a third receiver and it is really hurting quarterback Jameis Winston. As Evans and Godwin have been taking the top off of the defense, there has not been a third target that Winston can rely on underneath to make a consistent play. It is apparent that the Bucs miss last year’s third option Adam Humphries much more than they anticipated now they could potentially deal one of their biggest weapons in O.J. Howard.

The Cleveland Browns have one of those receivers that they have refused to play over the past three games in Rashard Higgins. While Higgins’ contract is set to expire after this year, the Buccaneers will have over $80 million, Higgins can be locked down for the future for a deal relatively similar to the one Humphries just got from the Tennessee Titans this Spring at around $9 million annually.

The question would be: do the Bucs want to invest a large sum of money into the wide receiver position with Evans already under a massive contract and Godwin entering the last year of his deal in 2020? One of the most underrated receivers in the league, Higgins has been Baker Mayfield’s favorite target; for some unknown reason, the Browns have been unwilling to play him.

With the cost of a fourth of fifth rounder, the Bucs could obtain Higgins and land a significant upgrade at the third receiver position.
