Happy Halloween! We do not mean to scare you, actually we do as that’s the point of Halloween, but Breshad Perriman is still a member of the Buccaneers.

Happy Halloween to the city of Tampa and to the fans of the pewter and red! For the spookiest of holidays, here is a terrifying piece of information: wide receiver Breshad Perriman is still a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Signed to a one-year, $4 million deal this past Spring, Perriman looked to be on the up-swing after giving his career a jolt with the Cleveland Browns where he found himself on the receiving end of deep ball after deep ball. Thus far for the Buccaneers, however, Perriman has recorded just three catches for 16 yards in five games, missing two with an injury.

After hauling in an impressive 64 percent of his passes as a member of the Browns a year ago, Perriman is catching passes from Jameis Winston at an abysmal rate of just 18.8 percent of his targets. On Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, Perriman was on the field for 70 percent of the offensive snaps, was targeted four times, and failed to reel in a single catch; he was also responsible for a failed two-point conversion as he lacked awareness to get his feet inbounds in the back of the endzone.

Given that Perriman was signed during the first phase of free agency, his contract counts towards the formula for compensatory draft picks. The Bucs already released Deone Bucannon, who counted towards the formula, and by releasing Perriman as well, the pewter and red could potentially recoup a potential fourth or fifth round pick in the draft.

In what seems like a no-brainer to swap a receiver making no impact for an early day-three pick, the Buccaneers have yet to make a roster move to part ways with the former first round pick from the University of Central Florida. The Buccaneers do, however, still have time to make the move, but the clock is ticking as Perriman must be off of the roster by Tuesday, November 5; this gives the Bucs just four short days to make a decision.

The Bucs may be keeping him through Sunday’s game with the Seattle Seahawks due to an injury to O.J. Howard, but he serves little purpose on this team. This seems like a relatively easy decision for the Buccaneers to make regarding the future of Perriman in Tampa, but with four days until their deadline he remains on the roster.
