After the Buccaneers lose another close heart breaker, this time to the Seattle Seahawks, quarterback Jameis Winston is not to blame.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now lost their fourth straight game after their 40-34 overtime loss to the now 7-2 Seattle Seahawks. What feels like for once, the pewter and red cannot point the finger at quarterback Jameis Winston for this loss; the Bucs now fall to 2-6 on the season as it looks like the 2019 year is turning out to be a wash.

In his best game in weeks, Winston finished his duel with the leading candidate for the Most Valuable Player award in Russell Wilson with 335 yards and two touchdowns, completing nearly 66 percent of his passes and no interceptions.

Despite one fumble, Winston did his best to put the Bucs in the best position to win; it was the defense, however, that compromised those chances. Wilson finished with 378 yards passing and five touchdowns and no turnovers as he picked apart the already sorry secondary in Tampa.

The Buccaneers managed to sack Wilson three times, including one by linebacker Lavonte David, but the secondary could not hold up their end of the bargain. Rookie Jamel Dean had a rough go of it today, giving up two touchdowns, including the game winner.

One week it is offense, the next it is defense. The Buccaneers cannot figure out a way to put it all together. Scoring 34 points should be good enough for a team to win, no matter the circumstance; yet today it still turned out as a loss for the Bucs as Wilson and the Seahawks were able to post 40 points onto the scoreboard.

The Bucs will now look forward to a matchup with the three-win Arizona Cardinals next week, looking to get back into the win column. Dropping to 2-6 on the season, it looks like the year is over for the pewter and red at the midway point; on to draft season to add more help to the offensive line and secondary.
