1.8 Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa

The biggest question that Licht and Arians need to answer is whether or not Jameis Winston is the future of this franchise at the quarterback position as he is in the last year of his contract without a new deal. More than likely, Winston’s best bet is to play himself into the franchise tag, biding himself another season to prove he is worth the investment for the pewter and red.

The second biggest question they need to answer then is if Winston is not the answer, do they tear it all down? If the answer is yes to rebuilding, do they go for a quarterback in the 2020 draft or bridge until 2021 to get a chance at Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields? Regardless of the answer to these questions, offensive tackle is a massive need for the Bucs, and one they cannot afford to put off.

With the eighth overall pick in this mock draft, the Bucs land Iowa tackle Tristan Wirfs to give their pass protection a massive upgrade. With Demar Dotson on the last year of his deal, and with Donovan Smith vastly underperforming the worst of his $13 million contract, there is no way the Buccaneers can go into the 2020 season with another band-aid along their offensive line.
