Looking at the box score
Midway through the 2019 season, Winston is on pace for his best passing season in terms of yardage and touchdowns. The problem, however, is that he is also on pace for the second-lowest completion percentage and the most interceptions of his career too. On a week-to-week basis, it is hard to know which Jameis is going to show up to battle.

Thus far, Winston is completing just 59 percent of his passes this season for the pewter and red, throwing for 2,407 yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and a league-leading 12 interceptions; he is posting by far the lowest QBR of his career at this point as well at a rating of 34.7. Winston’s legacy in Tampa as the franchise leader in passing statistics, while also being pegged as an inconsistent, untrustworthy performer has only been perpetuated this season.
After an abysmal performance in week six overseas against the Carolina Panthers, where he threw five interceptions and was sacked seven times, Winston has rebounded nicely in back-to-back weeks. Combined against the Tennessee Titans and Seahawks, Winston has thrown for 636 yards, four touchdowns, and just two interceptions.
His box score is a jumbled mess halfway through the season, but what do the analytics and data have to say about Winston’s 2019 campaign at this point in the season?
