Yet to see a play in a single playoff game since coming into the league in 2014, it is becoming obvious that Mike Evans deserves better from the Buccaneers.

Over these past few seasons, Mike Evans, wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has solidified himself as not only one of the best receivers in the game, but also as a top 20 player in Buccaneers franchise history. This unfortunately has been soiled over his career as the lack of production from this Buccaneers franchise has been far too prevalent, especially with no playoff appearances for Evans to showcase his talent.

The simple fact is Evans deserves better from this franchise.

Now don’t get me wrong, Evans has had his ups and downs. But with 54 receptions for 924 yards so far this season, he surely doesn’t deserve the blame that many others do, such as the untimely turnovers from quarterback Jameis Winston, or the poor game time decisions from head coach Bruce Arians.

Evans also has not only proven his skills over the receiving core of the Bucs, but also has proven himself to be the most valuable player on the team. But being the best player on a 3-6 team is definitely a spot no player of that caliber wants to find themselves in.

Looking back on this week’s previous win against the Arizona Cardinals, some progression was shown in the Winston-Evans dynamic, and when those two get going, it’s a great thing for Bucs fans to see. Those poster-worthy catches Evans provides for the Bucs are the fuel that drives this offense.

But if the Bucs cannot capture and perfect this dynamic in the upcoming seasons, Evans may have to search elsewhere to play out the rest of his NFL career.

It would be a true shame for us Bucs fans to see Mike Evans leave, but if he refuses to play in Tampa, nothing can be done as many other teams are certainly going to give him big dollars to come to their city. Arians must find a way to turn this team around, or Evans surely won’t be enjoying the Bay for much longer.
