Handing out game balls: 3 Buccaneers who excelled in win vs. Jaguars
By Cory Kinnan
My man is going to get paid this offseason, and hopefully that is by the Buccaneers. Shaquil Barrett is now up to 14.5 sacks on the season after tallying two more in yesterday’s win over the Jaguars, and leads the league in forced fumbles as well with six. Not only is he a sure Pro Bowler this year, but is firmly in the conversation for the Defensive Player of the year this year as well.

On Devin White’s defensive touchdown, it was Barrett who got around the edge to knock the ball out of Nick Foles’ hand. Signing a short term deal this year with the Bucs at just one-year worth $4 million, Barrett bet on himself and won big time. To re-sign Barrett, the Buccaneers are looking at anywhere between $19-22 million annually, and the 27 year old pass rusher has proven to be worth every penny.
Now at full strength off the edge, the attack of Barrett, Carl Nassib, and Jason Pierre-Paul has proven to be fruitful for the pewter and red defense. They have four games left to try to put more wins on the board, and Barrett and the rest of the edge rushers are going to lead the Bucs to victory from here on out.
