No running game, no defense, all gunslingers.

Something the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers share is a below average running game, serious secondary problems, and a gunslinger for quarterback. For this reason alone, the game will come down to “Who can score more points?”. When comparing running backs, defenses, and the starting quarterback between the two teams, Tampa Bay got the nod in more areas than Detroit did.

Team Comparisons

Both Tampa Bay and Detroit have lacked seriously in the rushing department this year. For Detroit, their running back committee of Bo Scarborough and Kerryon Johnson have dealt with the injury bug all season and without them in line up, the Lions become very one-sided. Tampa Bay, conversely, has seen their experiment of Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber fail this year as neither of the two have stayed consistent on the ground.

he defense for Detroit has been their Achilles heel this year, spearheading their current six game losing streak. On the other hand, the re-energized secondary of Tampa Bay has been the main proponent for the Buccaneers’ three game win streak.

Tampa Bay will be without Mike Evans, but the Lions are missing their starting quarterback, running back, and wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball with Stafford, Johnson, and now Marvin Jones landing on the IR.
