Buccaneers defense almost saves team from well-deserved loss
Offensive Woes
Some poorly timed drops and a lost fumble definitely played a role in hindering the team. On top of that, there is a bit of praise that can be given to the Buccaneers’ offense. running back Ronald Jones II had a fantastic day inside Raymond James Stadium. Jones ran for 77 yards on 14 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Wide receiver Breshad Perriman caught seven receptions for 102 yards, averaging 14.5 yards per reception. tight end O.J. Howard may have only snagged three of his seven targets, but he managed 46 yards overall (15.3 yards per reception).
On top of that, quarterback Jameis Winston threw for 335 yards over 48 attempts, averaging just under 7 yards per attempt. These all sound like great things, yeah? Unfortunately, Jameis Winston (with a slight assist from Peyton Barber) made sure that none of these efforts really mattered. Barber didn’t exactly help, averaging all of 2.6 yards per carry, and giving away a fumble on one of his five carries.
