The latest NFL Mock Draft had talented offensive tackle Andrew Thomas dropping to No. 14 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are more than likely going to take an offensive tackle with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers are deeply in need of shoring up that offensive line with a player who can come into the organization and make an immediate impact.

CBS Sports released its latest NFL Mock Draft (post Senior Bowl) this week and had the Buccaneers selecting star-studded OT Andrew Thomas with that 14th pick.

The mock draft had Joe Burrow No. 1 followed by Chase Young, Derrick Brown, Jeff Okudah and Tua Tagovailoa rounding out the top-5. The first offensive lineman taken was Alabama’s Jedrick Wills Jr. at No. 8 to the Arizona Cardinals and then the mock had Cleveland taking Mekhi Becton out of Louisville with the No. 10 overall pick, followed by Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs going to the Colts at No. 13.

If the stars aligned, this would likely be the best case scenario for the Buccaneers.

When watching the film from these four offensive tackles, I would rank them as follows:

  • Jedrick Wills Jr.
  • Andrew Thomas
  • Mekhi Becton
  • Tristan Wirfs

There’s not a ton of separation between the top and bottom, but if you can come away with a guy that many analysts consider to be the No. 1 OT in the class with the 14th overall pick, you’ve won the draft.

Thomas is extremely talented and is a guy that will come in and play immediately for whatever organization selects him. Unfortunately, I don’t see that organization being Tampa Bay.

Next. Three QBs to consider in 2020 NFL Draft. dark

It’s not because the Buccaneers wouldn’t love to have him. It’s because I’m convinced Thomas will be a top-10 pick and won’t fall any lower than No. 13 to the Colts at this point. He’s likely to be the second offensive tackle taken in the draft, but it doesn’t hurt to dream a few months out from the draft.
