The latest NFL Mock Draft from CBS Sports sees the Tampa Bay Buccaneers making a trade to get inside the top-10 of the draft.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently slated to pick at No. 14 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The consensus is that the Buccaneers will address the offensive tackle position with the pick, or if the top offensive tackle targets are off the board by No. 14, they might decide to go with a defensive lineman or defensive back.

In the latest Mock Draft from CBS Sports, the organization projects a trade into the top-10 for the Buccaneers.

CBS suggests that the Buccaneers could pair the No. 14 and No. 76 picks to move to No. 9 (Jacksonville Jaguars) and select QB Justin Herbert.

The Mock Draft also has the Raiders trading up to No. 7 (Carolina Panthers) to select Isaiah Simmons.

Thoughts:

This obviously has to be prefaced with the idea that the Buccaneers move on from Jameis Winston.

It wouldn’t make much sense for the franchise to give up a draft pick to move forward five spots to select a quarterback if they were sticking with Winston.

While there have been several reports over the past few days that Tampa Bay is considering all of its options, a trade up into the top-10 for a quarterback doesn’t seem very likely right now. Arians has made it clear that he doesn’t think many quarterbacks come out of the draft ready to play in the NFL. Instead, it takes time to develop.

If that’s the case, it would make much more sense for Tampa Bay to take a chance on a QB prospect later and address another position that can help the team win right now, whether that be with Winston under center or another veteran free-agent.

Next. K'Lavon Chaisson fits nicely in Bucs' system. dark

All of that being said, Justin Herbert is certainly a talented QB who could develop into a franchise player at the next level. He has a big arm and would fit well into Arians’ system given the opportunity.
