Just keep this one thing in mind. His interception problem effects a lot more than just himself and the offense. It is a cancer that eats away at this team. Eroding the players faith in him to lead them further than a losing record.
It creates an atmosphere of distrust, and effects the way defenders can play the opposing team. The very style of play is altered on defense by the situations he puts them into.
This team is built to be one that really puts it on the other team on the scoreboard. It’s meant to be a fast moving and high scoring offense. Fast, hard hitting and ball hawking on defense.
The interceptions throw wrenches into the machine. slowing it, making it more deliberate than playing loose, with speed and instinct which is what should be the case for such a hybrid defense, like we are developing here.
When we finally get a great quarterback here. The differences will be easy to see in the play on both sides of the ball. Here’s hoping that the Bucs won’t continue to waste the good seasons the players around him have to give. While waiting on Jameis Winston to get it right.
Because at this point those things are extremely important. This team has a window of opportunity coming around. It doesn’t wait, or change for anybody. It is what it is. wasting more time waiting for this flawed quarterback to get it right, is going to cost us dearly folks.
If you live by Jameis Winston, you die by Jameis Winston. It’s truly as simple as that. Last season we had a chance to make the playoffs even with the defense not coming around until later in the season.
Even after losing Evans and Godwin. This team could have still made it. Had Winston only thrown say 15 interceptions, we would have been in the playoffs without a doubt. Yes, even with our kicker. Think about that fact folks.
