Buccaneers: Tom Brady is “risk it for the biscuit” for Tampa
As Bruce Arians has often said: “You gotta risk it for the biscuit”. While he would be difficult to bring to Tampa Bay, Tom Brady is the ultimate biscuit.
How many times has a team had the chance to bring in the greatest player of all time at their respective position through free agency?
If you live under a rock, the Bucs have been linked to prized free agent Tom Brady. The Tom Brady-the goat himself. The 42-year-old is set to test free agency for the first time in his hall of fame career. The problem is that as much of a “biscuit” as Brady is, he is also a risk.
Brady is going to demand upwards of 30 million a year and keeping him and Jameis Winston isn’t even an option.

So let’s say the Bucs do go after Brady, and let’s say that Brady decides to give it a go without Bill Belichick. This would immediately make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers relevant again.
The entire league would be watching to see how this would play out. The Bucs would be at the forefront of every sports page around the country.
This would skyrocket ticket sales even if it’s only for a few years and would bring some respect back to this organization. That’s why bringing Brady in is the “biscuit.”
As for the risk, if Brady does come to Tampa and flop it could plummet this organization further into a hole. It’s very hard to imagine that Bruce Arians would continue to be the head coach after losing Jameis and losing with Brady. The other issue looming is that the window to win is extremely tight. He would have two, MAYBE three years to win it all.
The worst-case scenario is if the Buccaneers do go all in and miss out on both Jameis Winston and Tom Brady. If that’s the case they may be left with a rookie, Teddy Bridgewater, or a weaker fill-in quarterback.
Brady or Winston, the decision is Bruce Arians’ to make or mess up and it could make or break the 2020 season for the Buccaneers. This move is the definition of high-risk, high-reward, and nothing is more fitting to describe Bruce Arians.
