Though WR Antonio Brown has expressed interest in joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bruce Arians is making the right decision in saying ‘no.’

Antonio Brown has expressed major interest in joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the signing of Tom Brady for the organization.

Though the Buccaneers and Brown have been linked together, Tampa Bay Head Coach Bruce Arians said earlier this week that it simply will not happen.

Arians said there wasn’t any room and that Brown just wasn’t a fit in Tampa.

Though many Buccaneers fans wanted to see Brown join that already-talented wide receiver core just for the prospect of seeing Tom Brady have as many options as possible to throw the ball to, Arians is absolutely making the right decision.

As much talent as Brown possesses, the last thing you need right now if you’re Tampa Bay is a guy who could potentially come in and split the locker room. This is a young team with plenty of talent, and that’s why bringing in a veteran with a colorful past just doesn’t equal a winning recipe for the Buccaneers.

There’s a reason that Brown is being pursued by a ton of organizations. There’s a reason that the top franchises in the league aren’t lining up to sign the former All-Pro. And, really, it’s two-fold:

  1. You question how he would affect the locker room.
  2. You question if he still has that All-Pro talent.

There will be a franchise that will eventually take a chance on Brown maturing and still showing the same amount of talent as before, but that shouldn’t be Tampa Bay.

With the addition of Tom Brady, the Buccaneers are now in position to compete for a playoff spot with the current roster and they’ll be going head-to-head with the New Orleans Saints for the top spot in the division. The last thing you want is to disrupt chemistry or potentially hurt something showing that much promise.

That’s exactly why Bruce Arians is making the right decision.
