There are several players for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that generally get the majority of the spotlight, but here are 5 players that are up and comers.

It’s easy for players like Tom Brady, Chris Godwin, and Mike Evans to get the lion’s share of the fanfare when discussing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

These players on the upper end of the team have already established themselves and everyone who watches football knows a name like Tom Brady.

While it feels like Tampa Bay does have these well-known players in a greater quantity now, the Bucs also have several players who can make a splash in 2020.

1. Scotty Miller, Wide receiver

It seems as though everyone has penciled in a wide receiver for the Buccaneers in every mock draft that has come out over the last month. With Breshad Perriman walking, the assumption has been that Tampa Bay will look to bring in a replacement immediately at WR3.

What most people fail to take into account is that the Bucs already have a very competent replacement on their roster.

Scotty Miller has become the forgotten man in the Buccaneer receiving corps this offseason despite his exceptional speed and his solid end to the 2019 season.

When looking at the Bucs as a whole, Miller is likely the fastest player on the team, but his biggest downside is his small stature. At 5’9”, 174 pounds, Miller does run the risk of getting his bell rung, but his play towards the end of the season should have quelled those concerns.

Miller played well during his final four games before an injury ended his season prematurely. During this time, Miller had 10 receptions for 161 yards and a touchdown. This may not have been as exciting as Perriman’s stat line to end the season, but it showed that Miller can keep pace in the NFL.

If there were a quarterback to bring the most out of an unproven receiver, Tom Brady would be the one to do it.

The Bucs may already have a stellar slot receiver in Chris Godwin, but there is a way to allow Godwin and Miller to coexist in a pass-heavy offense, which would allow Scotty Miller to make a splash in 2020.
