5 Buccaneers who will make a name for themselves in 2020
By Rob Leeds
The Buccaneer secondary has left a lot to be desired for a while now, but 2020 looks like it has the makings to finally see a turnaround.
Tampa Bay is pegged to return all of its starters from 2019 and this lack of turnover will help build chemistry amongst the players.
One player who could benefit the most from this is safety Andrew Adams.
Adams’ claim to fame was picking off former Carolina Panther Cam Newton three times in a career game after being brought to the Tampa in the middle of the season in 2018. The Bucs did not re-sign Adams, but he was brought back during the regular season in 2019.
Tampa Bay decided to re-sign Adams this time and he will benefit greatly from having the full offseason with his future team rather than bouncing between teams.
One of the starting safety spots for 2020 is likely Adams’ to lose and he will try to use this offseason to his advantage. While he hasn’t been one of the most recognizable safeties in the NFL during his time in the league, Andrew Adams has played well in two rough stints with the Bucs and overall defensive improvement will help him out.
As one of the veterans on the Buccaneer secondary, look for Andrew Adams to take a further step towards national relevance in 2020.
