The 2020 Buccaneers look primed to be the best team in years for the franchise, but these former legends would help take the team to greater heights.
For the first time in what feels like years, the outlook is bright for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.
While aspirations for the Super Bowl may be too high, the prospect of making the playoffs and ending the drought that has been in place since 2007 is the highest that it has been.
This new team for the Buccaneers has started to develop its own identity and stars, but it’s fun to imagine this new team with some of the greatest Buccaneer players of all time in their prime as well.
John Lynch, Safety, (1993-2003)

One of the biggest question marks for the Buccaneers going into 2020 is who their starting safeties will be. Andrew Adams and Jordan Whitehead seem like the most likely candidates for now, but the Bucs have experienced a revolving door at the said position that has led to a drop-off in the overall level of play.
As arguably the best safety in Buccaneer history, John Lynch should be the number one player that the Bucs would add to their current team from their pool of legends.
Lynch brought a depth of talent to the safety position that Tampa Bay has lacked for over a decade. While being one of the hardest-hitting safeties in NFL history, John Lynch was also successful at defending the pass.
There have been countless wide receivers that have had their bell rung when they weren’t looking out for the heat-shaking missile that was John Lynch. His mixture of size and speed would put fear into any pass-catchers or runners in the modern NFL.
The Buccaneers would be thrilled to have both dimensions of Lynch’s game on their team now, and the secondary for the Bucs would take more steps in the right direction towards improving.
