Is Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski set to become the ‘Comeback Player of the Year’ in 2020?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocked the world earlier this offseason when it was reported that Tom Brady would be leaving the New England Patriots to come down south and play in Tampa.

The Buccaneers followed that up by making a trade for former-retired TE Rob Gronkowksi to pair him with his former teammate and friend in Brady.

And now all that remains are burning questions. What will Gronkowski look like? Will he be able to put on the weight to play the tight end position effectively? Can he play up to the level that he was at back when he retired in 2018?

Well, according to the latest Vegas odds, Gronkowski has a great chance to be the ‘Comeback Player of the Year.’

Here’s a look at the players with the greatest odds to be the Comeback Player of the Year in 2020:

Don’t call it a comeback, Buccaneers

Roethlisberger, Gronkowski and Watt are all in that same range in terms of odds and there’s a solid shot that at least one of those three guys returns to a form similar of his old self this season.

Gronk will have the benefit of being able to rest because of the great depth that the Buccaneers have at tight end and that will allow him to stay healthy and play at his best level over the course of an entire season.

Looking at some of the other guys on this list, I would be interested in seeing what A.J. Green does this season. Green now has Joe Burrow as his quarterback and that could lead to a resurgence for the wide receiver in Cincinnati.
