Three players that could be traded to the Buccaneers by the beginning of the season
By Seth Hibel
Joe Thuney, OG, New England Patriots
Joe Thuney was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2016 NFL draft by the New England Patriots, and from that moment on, his one job has been to protect Tom Brady.

His experience playing with Brady is something to envy as well as his size at 6’5″ 308 pounds. Thuney has been improving every year and is coming off a stretch where he only allowed one sack in the past two seasons. Thuney could prove to be a great mentor to the newest Buccaneer Tristan Wirfs and explain to him the importance of protecting Tom Brady. Of course, he can also teach Wirfs his craft.
The trade still has a risk factor to it. Thuney signed the Patriots’ franchise tag without further extension so that he would become a free agent in 2021.
If the Buccaneers were to add him, it would be hard for Thuney to leave such a talented offense and offensive line with great potential.
With the Patriots possibly in a rebuild, they could get a good return on a trade for Thuney to help improve their future outlook. This trade could work for both sides, but Belichick is a dark horse, and there is no telling what he would do.
