The Buccaneers need to make a blockbuster trade for Trevor Lawrence

The 2020 College Football season is on life support currently and the loudest voice advocating for the season to continue is none other than current Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence.

The most intriguing portion of this whole ordeal the fact that Trevor Lawrence is the student-athlete who would benefit least from his scholarship this season.

What do I mean?

If you talk to any NFL Draft Insider, the expectation is that Lawrence will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. It’s absolutely crazy that a man who is about to make millions- no matter what happens to the 2020 season for CFB- would stand so strongly in advocacy for the season to be played.

That’s true leadership and is exactly why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to make a blockbuster trade happen.

‘Risk it for the Biscuit’ would be the ultimate Trevor Lawrence story

Look, there’s no doubt that the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft is going to be worth a fortune.

Whether it’s the Washington Football Team, Carolina Panthers, etc., everyone is going to hold that pick with high regard simply because of the talent that Trevor Lawrence brings to the table.

The Buccaneers would likely have to give up multiple first-round picks for years to come, as well as a couple of top players on the current roster to even come close to making it happen.

But, guess what? It’d be absolutely worth it.

Tom Brady only has one more year on his contract following the 2021 season, meaning that Lawrence would have a year to get acclimated and learn under the GOAT. After that, this would be his franchise to lead.

You really couldn’t dream up a better situation.

We can talk all day about why it won’t happen or why the Buccaneers shouldn’t attempt to give up that much roster and draft capital, but today’s NFL has shown one simple fact: You either have a quarterback and you matter. Or you don’t have one and you don’t.

Next. 5 cardboard cutouts we want to see at home games. dark

Trevor Lawrence is a future NFL Hall of Famer and a natural leader. You couldn’t ask for a better player and person to bring into the franchise. That’s why this should happen.
