There’s no way Tom Brady lets Drew Brees get the best of him twice
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by Tom Brady, will take the field Sunday night looking to avenge a loss to the New Orleans Saints earlier in the season.
Tom Brady and the Bucs currently hold a 0.5-game lead over the Saints heading into this weekend and there’s no doubting that a win would be huge for either team at this point in the season as both battle for supremacy within the division.
The last time we saw Brady go head-to-head with Drew Brees– as we just mentioned- it didn’t turn out too well. Brady completed 63.9 percent of his passes for two touchdowns, but he also threw two costly interceptions- one of which was a pick-six.
As we progress closer to kickoff for this game, one thing is becoming clear: There’s no way Tom Brady lets Drew Brees get the best of him twice in a single season, right?
Tom Brady is undoubtedly the better quarterback
There’s no debate during the scope of the 2020 season who the better quarterback is between Brady and Brees. Here’s a quick look at the stat line can tell you much of the story:
- Brady: 204-of-308 (66.2 percent) for 2,189 yards and 20 touchdowns to 4 interceptions.
- Brees: 185-of-253 (73.1 percent) for 1,898 yards and 13 touchdowns to 3 interceptions.
Now, if you looked at these stat lines on the surface, you might say these two are similar. After all, Brees has a higher accuracy and he currently has a higher yards per attempt number than Brady.
But what about where it matters? Brady has thrown 20 touchdown passes- that’s seven more than Brees. The Saints have been working around Brees’ deficiencies, in particularly how he can’t throw a long pass anymore.
The overarching point? Brady is the better quarterback with the better set of weapons around him at home.
There’s no way he loses this one.
