Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver rotation and chemistry has to be developed

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the top wide receiver rooms in the league, but that doesn’t mean things have come easily for the group.

Despite having two solidified Pro-Bowlers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, as well as some solid options like Scotty Miller, the Bucs have had difficulty building chemistry with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in Tom Brady.

Part of this is due to the fact that the Bucs have suffered an exorbitant amount of injuries at that position that has seen both Evans and Godwin sidelined at times and neither at 100 percent. To add to the injuries, the Bucs had less time than normal during the preseason to work on chemistry.

And then to add on top of that, Tampa Bay just signed a new wide receiver in Antonio Brown to the roster. Brown’s reputation precedes him and there’s certainly reason to believe that the WRs are going through an adjustment period- to say the least- when it comes to learning to be a teammate to Brown.

All of that piled on top of each other is exactly why we can say that the Buccaneers have one of the most skilled wide receivers room, yet the position has been largely unproductive for the majority of the 2020 season.

That has to chance for the Buccaneers

These wide receivers are simply too talented to not be creating space and making major plays in the passing game.

As the season progresses- especially as we get into the thick of November and December- we should expect to see the WR group come alive as their learn their roles and Brady is able to gain chemistry with his targets, something that has been all over the place through the first half of the season.

Expect big things from these wide receivers on the back half of the season and they very well could be the difference between a disappointing end and a triumphant celebration.
