Ronald Jones rushes for 100 yards

A thousand yards seems to be the milestone that several players are focused on for tomorrow. In addition to Evans trying to get over that hump, Ronald Jones is just 100 yards shy of joining the elusive 1,000-yard club for the Buccaneers running backs.

Even with injuries, COVID-19 complications, and misuse in a questionable offense at times, Ronald Jones has defied all to finish the season as one of the better running backs in the NFL.

After months of the fanbase calling for the team to draft a new running back or to move on from Jones, the third-year back from USC has put all of those questions to bed with one of the best rushing seasons since Doug Martin. While not quite as dominant as Martin was, Jones has made the most of his touches this season in the lead role and should have that job locked up for the time being.

Professional sports are all about loyalty, and the Bucs could best show this loyalty to Jones by giving him every chance possible to get over that hump. Finding a running back capable of posting 1,000 yards has been extremely difficult in Tampa Bay, but Jones deserves to be the one to bring that success back to the position.

Averaging five yards a carry this season, Jones would need around 20 carries to reach this mark, but Jones has already rushed for over 100 yards four times this year, so this is not out of the question for tomorrow’s game.
