Additional fits for the Buccaneers

7. Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, FSU

Much like running back, safety is a position the Buccaneers should stay away from. The Bucs already can’t get their three starting-caliber safeties on the field enough as is, and adding another one would only muddy the field even more.

More from The Pewter Plank

A horrific FSU team hid Hamsan Nasirildeen’s talent during his tenure, but the Senior Bowl has helped bring his stock up to a respectable level.

As a safety with a wide range of talent that could play across the secondary when needed, the Buccaneers could add to their depth with Nasirildeen, who brings far more to the table than Andrew Adams.

Nasirildeen will probably go too high for the Buccaneers to take a chance on a depth player, but his performance at the Senior Bowl indicates he could dominate in a Todd Bowles defense.

8. Michael Carter, RB, UNC

There are many running backs on this list for a team that relies more on the pass to win the game, but some of these options are too good to pass up in the current scheme.

The Buccaneers still do not have a James White-type player to pair with Tom Brady, and it shows in the offensive production. The Bucs struggled to get the ball to running backs in the passing game due to drops, and the Bucs could solve this issue with Michael Carter.

In the Senior Bowl, Carter showed that he could make the most of his touches, which lends itself well to an offense that already has a workhorse for the next few seasons at least. Carter would bring better hands in the passing game and strong efficiency as a runner, which is exactly what Brady needs in a year with huge expectations.
