The success begins for Bruce Arians

You can knock Arians for his hard-headedness or the tough love that he shows to his players, but he is one of the best drafting coaches in the NFL. The past two draft classes for the Buccaneers (other than Matt Gay) have been two of the best in the last fifteen years, and those rookies have played a massive role in the current success.

In addition to his prowess as an evaluator of college talent, Arians has been able to assemble a spectacular coaching staff in Tampa. Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich have caught flak from the media at various points, but both have come into their own this season and are clear head coaching candidates for the future.

Bruce Arians has not faced an easy path to get where he is today, but there is a good chance that Tom Brady would have never worn a pewter and red jersey if it wasn’t for the current head coach. Arians has made some difficult decisions and stood by them, and now, he has a chance to further his legacy in a new way.

With a Super Bowl win this year, Arians could easily emerge as a Hall of Fame-caliber coach. There may be a few coaches with a bit more age that could get precedence, but a Lombardi Trophy is really the last thing that Arians can accomplish in his time as a coach.

Throughout his career, Arians has made it a priority to build teams up wherever he goes. His methods may be unconventional in the modern NFL, but with a win against the Chiefs, no one will ever get to question Arians again.

The focus may be on the quarterbacks and their legacies leading up to this game, but Bruce Arians has a heck of a legacy of his own that he is working on, and he has earned the chance tomorrow to etch his name in stone amongst the greats at his profession.
