An additional corner for the Buccaneers

Patrick Peterson

With Carlton Davis on track to get a massive contract after the 2021 season, the Bucs don’t have a ton of money to invest in a top-tier cornerback, but in this dream scenario, Peterson is the one to approach the Bucs.

More from The Pewter Plank

After years of mediocrity in Arizona, Peterson should be on the lookout to join a dominant player and compete for a Super Bowl. The Bucs likely don’t want to move away from any of their three established corners, but this addition certainly doesn’t take away from their Super Bowl aspirations.

As good as the secondary looked at times, the Buccaneers were carved up by opposing quarterbacks far too often. Even mediocre talent like Daniel Jones found plenty of space against the Buccaneer secondary.

Tampa Bay needs to reload at corner if they’re going all-in one more time, and Patrick Peterson is as good as it gets. As a superb man corner that would fit in a Todd Bowles defense from day one, Peterson is a perfect fit if the money is right.

Peterson has made just shy of 100 million dollars throughout his career and is set on the money front, and he could concede on the salary to make a fit work.

If Tampa Bay could get Peterson to sign for approximately five million dollars, the opportunity could be perfect for both parties.
