The Buccaneers have a very exciting rookie receiver to lean on

Jaelon Darden

Jaelon Darden may not get the Ja’Marr Chase treatment from the media, but he has quietly (outside of Tampa) put together an extremely impressive training camp.

No one has any bad things to say about the newest receiver to one of the best offensive units in the NFL, and there are plenty of people that will start asking themselves how Darden fell to the fourth round in the draft once they actually see him play.

The Bucs made a perfect pick with their fourth-round selection, and the preseason is like finally hitting an open road with a new car. You already know you love the vehicle, but you can’t help yourself but see what it can actually do outside the closed circuit.

The good news for Darden is that he should see plenty of playing time in the coming weeks. The wide receiver room is currently locked in a fierce competition to see how the order will fall week one of the regular season, so there is a chance that the WR4-WR6 could see extra time on the field during these throwaway games.

Darden has done great so far against the starters, but it is time to see what he can do against players he doesn’t see every day. Look for Darden to be a sneaky lock to finish with the most preseason receiving yards in the league.
