The Tom Brady versus Drew Brees discussion existed long before the two faced off in a Buccaneers-Saints game. Brady just scored another win.
Somehow, Tom Brady has been able to score a win against the Saints without having to throw a pass for the Buccaneers this season. Looks like he is beating the Saints at their own game considering their biggest wins come in any time other than the postseason.
Brady made headlines several days ago for something that doesn’t even have a definite start date. In a move that shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone, Brady is about to become one of the highest-paid sports personalities in the world when he retires.
It looks like Drew Brees doesn’t have the same draw.
Despite the fact that Brees is still going to land somewhere to talk about the game that he had such a large impact on, it’s laughable to say that he and Brady are even in the same category as far as their impact goes off the field.
You can rest assured that this fact is not lost on Brady. For most of his career, Brees has been one of the biggest competitors to Brady and his records. Various individual records passed hands between the two almost every year it seemed, but it looks like Brady is going to easily go out on top both as a player and in the booth.
None of this surprises Buccaneers fans. No one would deny that Brees doesn’t leave a massive legacy, but it will always be hard to compete with the GOAT. Brady’s second act with the Bucs has been next to impossible to contend with. We can already safely bet that we will see more of the same when he steps off the field for the final time.
