After naming rookie Jalon Daniels the backup quarterback and subsequently releasing Jake Browning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers found themselves in the market for a veteran QB3.
Several names were considered as potential fits — including Connor Bazelak, who spent the offseason in Tampa Bay, former Buccaneer Kyle Trask, who spent time in Atlanta under Zac Robinson last season, or even a wild card in Will Levis, who was released by the Titans and cleared waivers.
The Buccaneers went with none of the above, and signed veteran quarterback Easton Stick to their practice squad.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign Easton Stick as QB3 behind Baker Mayfield, Jalon Daniels
Stick spent the 2025 season with the Falcons, where he was coached by Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and pass game coordinator T.J. Yates.
The 30-year-old veteran has seven years of NFL experience and brings extensive knowledge and familiarity with the offense Tampa Bay will be running.
He was a strong fit for what the Buccaneers were looking for in a third-string quarterback. Tampa Bay needed a veteran in the room after making an undrafted rookie their No. 2 option.
The former fifth-round pick spent his first six seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before signing with the Falcons last year. He spent training camp with the Indianapolis Colts before being cut and landing in Tampa Bay.
His athletic profile doesn’t stray too far from Baker Mayfield, both are considered undersized and listed at 6-foot-1, and both offer solid mobility.
He’ll be able to give the defense a good look on the scout team, and offer an important veteran perspective to Daniels as the team looks to fast-track the development of their high-upside rookie.
Stick was a solid addition to the practice squad, and the only member so far who joined as an outside addition, rather than having spent the entire offseason in Tampa Bay.
Robinson and Yates must have liked what they saw in their time working with Stick last season to prioritize bringing him with them to the Buccaneers. In just one move, the quarterback spot is now much more stable.
