One of the highest anticipated pieces of information this offseason has been when the Buccaneers will choose to wear their creamsicles in 2025.
The franchise is entering its 50th season since being established in 1976, and fans are curious how the team will pay homage to their roots.
In an official press release released by the team, the weekly themes for each home game have finally been revealed. The Buccaneers will be suiting up in their throwbacks in front of a national audience; when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football in Week 15.
Buccaneers must overcome both prime-time and throwback uniform woes to defeat Falcons
The Buccaneers may be wearing the throwback digs, but they need to avoid playing like the 1976 team in Week 15. In six games wearing the creamsicles as a throwback since 2009, the Bucs are a miserable 1-5.
If the uniforms don’t provide enough bad mojo, the Buccaneers are also 0-5 in regular-season prime-time games in the Baker Mayfield era.
The Falcons swept the Buccaneers a season ago, but still finished two games behind Tampa Bay in the NFC South standings. After a strong and aggressive offseason, the expectation in Atlanta is the team to continue to challenge Tampa Bay for the division title and potentially make a playoff run.
That makes this Week 15 matchup even more important. With the Falcons poised to be the biggest challenger to the Buccaneers’ streak of four consecutive division titles, this game is arguably the most important on the schedule and will have massive playoff implications.
The late-season face off with Atlanta is the Buccaneers’ only home prime time game in 2025, and Raymond James Stadium will be booming as the fans celebrate the beloved creamsicles and watch the Buccaneers try to make it five straight NFC South titles.
