Jaguars star Josh Hines-Allen calls out Buccaneers after joint practice

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars met for joint practice on Tuesday, and the Jaguars won the day by a wide margin. 

Tampa Bay’s offense scored just one touchdown throughout practice. Their defense didn’t fare much better, with Jacksonville’s offense moving the ball at will for much of the session. 

One area where the Buccaneers did have some success was in one-on-one drills, with Tampa Bay’s pass rushers going against the Jaguars’ offensive linemen. The Buccaneers shared clips of their success on social media, and Jaguars star pass rusher Josh Hines-Allen had something to say.

“I keep seeing these one on one rushes from Tampa bay, those good rushes but the way we was doing them boys on that other field. MAN!!!” Hines-Allen said, via a post on X.

Hines-Allen has every reason to feel confident. The reports coming out of practice were that the Jaguars were having their way with the Bucs offensive line. 

Hines-Allen, in particular, had a dominant showing at practice, frequently getting the better of Buccaneers right tackle Luke Goedeke. 

It was a matchup of good-on-good. Hines-Allen has recorded eight sacks last year, and at least seven sacks in five consecutive seasons. Goedeke is coming off a 2025 season in which he wasn’t charged with giving up a single sack or QB hit. On paper, the matchup shouldn’t have been so tilted in Hines-Allen’s favor. 

The rough day of practice for Tampa Bay’s offensive line, and Hines-Allen’s subsequent social media post should give the entire unit plenty of motivation heading into today’s practice. 

But for as dominant as Jacksonville’s defensive line was on Tuesday, Tampa Bay’s looked even better.

Seeing their defensive line deliver such a dominant performance is an encouraging sign for the Buccaneers. 

The team’s pass rush has been a consistent weakness over the years, and they addressed it thoroughly this offseason. The front office signed Al-Quadin Muhammad and drafted Rueben Bain Jr., while getting David Walker back from injury. 

On the interior, they signed A’Shawn Robinson and Rakeem Nunez-Roches before drafting DeMonte Capehart. It’s a completely revamped defensive front, and they’ve look much improved throughout the offseason. 

It was a tale of two trenches for the Buccaneers. The team is hoping their defensive front can come through with another strong showing in today’s practice, and this time, the offense can bounce back and make Hines-Allen eat his words.
