The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the best offensive tackle in the NFL in Tristan Wirfs.
At just 27 years old, Wirfs is already on a Hall of Fame trajectory, earning five Pro Bowl nominations in six seasons and three All-Pro honors. He’s famously the only player in NFL history to be named All-Pro at both left tackle and right tackle.
But despite his undeniable dominance, Wirfs has continuously been getting disrespected this offseason.
Buccaneers’ Tristan Wirfs lands at No. 52 on NFL Top 100 ranking
Each year, players vote on the NFL’s Top 100. On last year’s list, Wirfs’ peers ranked him at No. 28.
This year, Wirfs slipped all the way to No. 52 on the list. Simply put, there’s not 51 players better than Wirfs in the NFL.
Wirfs’ performance last season didn’t warrant such a fall on the list. Pro Football Focus ranked Wirfs as the NFL’s second-best offensive tackle in 2025 with an elite 92.7 grade. He finished top five in both pass blocking and run blocking.
It’s not the first time Wirfs has been underrated this offseason.
ESPN’s annual top 10 list, voted on by executives, coaches, and scouts, saw Wirfs land at No. 3, despite being the top-ranked tackle on last year’s list.
While there’s no shame in being named a top three player at your position, there’s no real justification for Wirfs dropping two spots on the list.
Wirfs will have to remind the world why he’s the NFL’s best offensive tackle in 2026. Constantly getting slighted is frustrating, but it’s sure to put a chip on Wirfs’ shoulder that could pay dividends for the Buccaneers.
