Baker Mayfield has become a popular figure in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fanbase, and understandably so. He has been the perfect successor to Tom Brady and this season, had led the Buccaneers to three game-winning drives in the first three games of the season. Mayfield plays with a chip on his shoulder and he's not afraid to trash talk his opponents, or reveal extra motivation to defeat opposing coaches (hello Steve Wilks).

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni also isn't afraid to trash talk opposing players or gleam for the cameras when his teammakes a good play. He's not a popular figure if he's playing against your team. Heck, Sirianni even gets under the skin of his own fanbase at times!

So it's not surprising that Mayfield and Sirianni had an exchange during the game. FOX cameras filmed Mayfield walking alongside the Eagles sideline, and Sirianni was following the quarterback and directing some trash talk his direction.

While it looked like a heated confrontation, Sirianni let it be known that there was no ill-intent.

Nick Sirianni reveals there was no ill-will towards Baker Mayfield during Week 4 taunting

Sirianni said during the post-game press conference that he has nothing but love for Mayfield, as he detailed that the two knew each other years ago when Mayfield was the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns while Sirianni was quarterbacks coach for the Indianapolis Colts. Sirianni said he has noting but respect for Mayfield.

"[I have] a lot of respect for him," said Sirianni, h/t Greg Auman of FOX Sports. "I think he is a really competitive dude. Just talking a little bit back and forth right there because we know each other. Like I said to him, besides our guys, [he is] one of my favorite guys to watch in the NFL. I said that to him after the game because I [have] a lot of respect for him."

As Sirianni mentions, he and Mayfield talked after the game, and the head coach had nothing but praise for him.

Sirianni wasn't the only Eagle to taunt Mayfield. Philadelphia cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and Mayfield exchanged words closely during the game, and it led to Mitchell shoving Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs.

Mayfield nearly had another comeback drive, but the offensive line couldn't hold off Philadelphia's relentless defense, resulting in the 31-25 loss. Mayfield completed 22-of-40 pass attempts for 289 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing one interception.

The Eagles and Sirianni got the better of Mayfield and the Bucccaneers. Despite the on-field taunting, Sirianni had nothing but love for Mayfield.
