The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are battling it out against the Washington Commanders in Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. It's Year 11 for Mike Evans but you wouldn't know that given how he's the same dominant player he's been since his rookie year.

Evans was the same fantastic player in Week 1, scoring the Bucs' lone touchdown ahead of the half. Evans somehow scored the touchdown despite excellent coverage from the Commanders defender, making people once again question how Evans did what he always does.

Gene Deckerhoff had a sensational call of Evans' touchdown, which you can hear below (the Evans touchdown call begins around the 49 second mark).

Bucs radio call nails the intensity of Mike Evans TD

When calling the touchdown itself, Deckerhoff gave us another gem. "Caught ball, caught ball! Mike Evans with a guy draped all over him! Touchdown Tampa Bay! Fire the cannons, get 'em going!"

Bucs fans are used to seeing Evans make these kinds of plays and this one was another fantastic showing from the former first-round pick. The Commanders defended was indeed draped all over Evans yet that didn't matter, as the wide receiver still made the play to put the Bucs up 13-0.

The first half went well for the Bucs even with just the one touchdown scored. They only let the Commanders score once while scoring on all four of their drives. If they can get another touchdown on the board in the second half, Bucs fans should feel pretty good about this resulting in a Tampa Bay win.
