It was a surprisingly thrilling opening game of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason schedule, with John Wolford leading the team to a 17-14 win over the Bengals. The Bucs scored a go-ahead touchdown with under a minute left, and held off a desperate surge by Cincinnati to get the victory.

Now it's on to Duval and a Week 2 meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Both teams have gotten familiar with one another after a week of joint practices, and everything comes to a head on Saturday night. One thing fans will be keeping an eye on is whether the young players who stepped up in the win last weekend can keep things going.

Bucky Irving had a great game, while fellow rookie Graham Barton added the first clip to his highlight reel.

Jalen McMillan has been hyped up all offseason as a crucial piece of the offense, but he was a little quiet against the Bengals. Perhaps that was the so-so play of Kyle Trask but fans will be looking for him to make a bigger impact this week.

Buccaneers vs. Jaguars start time and location

Unlike last weekend, the Buccaneers will be back in Florida, although they are still on the road. Saturday's game will take them to EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville for a rematch of last year's game against the Jaguars.

It won't be a true rematch as none of the Bucs' important starters are expected to play. Todd Bowles said that guys like Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans will likely get a tune-up drive in the final preseason game against Miami which means it's likely going to be another showcase for Kyle Trask and some of the other players trying to earn roster spots.

That's good news for the Jaguars, who come into this game undefeated but also licking their wounds over what happened the last time these two teams played. Starters were involved back in Week 16 when Tampa Bay won 30-12.

Buccaneers vs. Jaguars preseason Week 2 TV channel

The game should be a little easier to find this week than last Saturday. Usually, the Bucs are on WFLA, but last Saturday, we saw them switch over to The CW. Things are back to normal as the game against Jacksonville will be back where we're all used to finding it.

  • Date: Saturday, August 17th
  • Start Time: 7:30 pm ET
  • Local TV Channel: WFLA-TV
  • Announcers: Chris Myers, Rondé Barber, Dan Lucas
  • Radio: WXTB 97.9 FM
  • Live Stream: NFL+ | Fubo

Tampa Bay doesn't have any nationally televised games this preseason, which means it's going to be local markets only for anyone hoping to catch the game on television. That doesn't mean you're out of luck if you don't live in either viewing area, but it will take a little extra effort to catch the action.

However, NFL Network will broadcast a replay of the game on Monday and Wednesday.
