For the second straight year the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be bringing back the classic Creamsicle uniforms.

Last year, the Bucs wore their throwbacks for the first time since 2012, and while the game itself was a major letdown, it was nice to see the vintage look return. Not only were the uniforms back, but the team built an entire theme game around the uniforms returning, which is something that is happening again this year.

On Tuesday, the Buccaneers announced that the old-school Creamsicles will be coming back on October 27th, which will be Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Buccaneers reveal throwback Creamsicles will return in Week 8

It seems the Bucs are lining up each Creamsicle reveal with a specific year in franchise history. Tampa Bay dubbed last year's game the 'Spirit of '76', which is a theme that continues this season as well.

This year the team is calling the Creamsicle game the 'Spirit of '79', which is meant to commemorate the team's first division title. Having the game against a current division rival in Atlanta adds a little extra texture to the theme.

For what it's worth, last year's Creamsicle game was against the Detroit Lions, and the 1976 element of the theme was billed as a throwback to the old NFC Central days.

Doubly, for what it's worth, this was an announcement the Bucs sort of botched initially. The Creamsicles were expected to come back, but we hadn't heard anything until last week. That's when the team accidentally revealed October 27th as the Creamsicle date when announcing a different theme game entirely -- the Red Out against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Hopefully that's not some sort of omen, which some fans believe the Creamsicles represent simply by existing. The Bucs bringing back their throwbacks coincided with a 1-6 losing streak that nearly sunk the season.

Whether it was a spoiled surprise or not really doesn't matter. The Creamsicles are back, as controversial as they are among fans, and everyone is hoping that wearing them this time around doesn't bring about more bad luck.
