The Tampa Bay Buccaneers getting back to business with Week 1 just around the corner. Rosters are set, the goal is clear, and the vibes are absolutely immaculate.
It's hard to express just how amazing things went last season. Picked to be among the worst teams in the league, the Bucs didn't play their final game until the second round of the playoffs. Baker Mayfield had a resurgent year, Mike Evans started to get Hall of Fame praise, and the post-Tom Brady era got off on the right foot.
Now comes the work of building on that success, not just on the field but as an entire organization. One of the criticisms of Tampa Bay was that the franchise wasted an opportunity to set iteself up for sustained success after Brady left, but Jason Licht soon proved that notion wrong.
It's more than just the brilliant roster work of Licht that has the Bucs in a position to compete for a Super Bowl, it's the way head coach Todd Bowles has led the team since taking over for Bruce Arians.
Todd Bowles had a hilarious reaction during Buccaneers press conference
The usually stoic Bowles had a hilarious burst of energy during his midweek press conference. He was asked how someone as lowkey as he is feels entering the season and his reaction was absolutely priceless.
Bowles' initial reaction is amazing on it's own, but the best part might be the 'yeah' he drops right after.
It's more than just a funny moment, it's a precursor to the type of energy the Buccaneers will have -- and need to have -- all season. Last year the team pulled itself out of a 1-6 slump against all odds, especially considering we hadn't seen them capable of such a thing in the past.
That's a testament to the type of locker room Bowles has created, and this fun little moment is an example of its evolution. Bowles has often been stoic and reserved in his press conferences and even some of his postgame speeches; a man of few words that typically lets his team do the talking.
To see him come out of his shell like this is a sign that the vibes in Tampa Bay are immaculate, and it's the best omen yet that the success of last season is going continue to be built upon this year.
