Madden NFL 2027 is set to be released on consoles on August 13 this year, but just a couple of weeks before that in late July and early August, EA Sports will release the ratings for the players. And Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans will be very curious to see how their players stack up, especially since key stars like Lavonte David, Mike Evans, and Jamel Dean are no longer with the team.
Here is a prediction of the Buccaneers top five highest rated players in Madden 27.
Madden 27 Buccaneers rating predictions
5. RB Bucky Irving, 86 overall
Bucky Irving had a ridiculous 2024 season and was rated 86 in Madden 26, but because of the injury last season, he won't be able to up his rating even with a year of experience under his belt. But if Irving can stay healthy, there is a real chance he rips off another big season with 1,200 rushing yards and solidifies himself as an elite back with a rating creeping closer towards 90.
4. QB Baker Mayfield, 88 overall
Although Baker Mayfield was only rated 84 in Madden 26 despite a sensational 2024 season in which he led the Bucs to the playoffs, he gets a major upgrade for Madden 27. Sure, Mayfield had a poor second half of the season, but that was not really his fault. He was at an MVP level in the first half of the campaign, and, to be honest, the 84 rating was an undersell of the star quarterback.
3. FS Antoine Winfield Jr., 90 overall
Antoine Winfield Jr. may have made the Pro Bowl, but Madden is a little bit more sophisticated than the voters. Even Buccaneers fans will admit that Winfield was not so hot in 2025 and one of the team's biggest disappointments as the defense collapsed. He needs to be more consistent, more of a leader, and sharper in coverage. He gets a downgrade, but he's still a top three Bucs player.
2. NT Vita Vea, 94 overall
Vita Vea is an incredible player, and with the likes of A'Shawn Robinson, Alex Anzalone, and rookie edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. coming in to help him out on the front seven, Vea will have more room to make big plays. A rating above 95 after this season is not at all far fetched.
1. LT Tristan Wirfs, 96 overall
Already one of the best players in the NFL, the blindside protector of Baker Mayfield gets a slight bump up from 95 to 96. Tristan Wirfs and Vita Vea are easily the biggest stars on the Buccaneers, and they are in play to be future Hall of Famers. Wirfs is crazy underrated and one of the best tackles of his generation, and it would not be a surprise at all to see him in the 99 club within a couple of seasons.
