Buccaneers finally reveal new white throwback uniforms, and when they'll wear them

This season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be celebrating the team's 50th anniversary and things are going to get off to a stylish start straight away.

The Bucs have been teasing a big announcement for about a month, and on Tuesday, finally pulled the curtain back on what they've been cooking up. For the first time since 1996, and to commemorate the team's inaugural season in 1976, the Bucs have revealed white throwback uniforms that will be worn during a game this year.

We knew these were coming -- they'd been accidentally leaked a few months back -- but nothing official had been mentioned. Now we not only know what the Buccaneers new throwbacks will look like but when they'll be worn.

Buccaneers reveal white throwback uniforms for 2025 season

The Bucs will be wearing these white throwback Week 1 against the New York Jets, meaning the 50th Anniversary season is going to be kicked off in style.

Keep in mind this is not in place of the throwback creamsicles, which will also be worn this season. The Bucs announced earlier this offseason that those will be worn in Week 15 against the Atlatna Falcons, which will once again feature the clocks getting turned back at Raymond James Stadium to honor the orange uniforms.

These white throwbacks are in addition to the creamsicles, and will be worn first.

It's nice to see the past honored and for the Bucs to be unafraid to shake things up in terms of the uniforms rotation. It took over a decade for the team to bring back the creamsicles, and we've only sporadically seen the vintage look used, despite its popularity.

These road whites are a welcomed addition and a great nod to the past, and feel like the perfect way to kick off the 50th anniversary season. Right now they're being billed as a 'one season only' deal, but it'll be interesting to see whether or not that changes based on how popular these new uniforms become with fans.
