Chris Simms, you are garbage…You’re not a hostage, your’e just not a good football player anymore and we can’t trade you anymore. Go away.
I wasn’t sure why Michael Bennett was playing so much last night, it was one of my main questions throughout the game. I think it assures Clifton Smith and Kenneth Darby not making the team.
DEXTER JACKSON. My man. He took the criticism he had been receiving all week from numerous outlets, and showed us why we should shut the hell up. I loved Gruden’s quote at halftime about him.
“That guy is fast.” – Jon Gruden
“I don’t know [...]

The Bucs announced today they have sent DE Marques Douglas to the Ravens for a late round draft pick in 2009 and a conditional draft pick in 2010. Douglas was seemingly penciled in to have a big role after signing with us as a free agent in the offseason, but the emergence of Jimmy Wilkerson was going to make it hard for him to make the final 53 man roster. Good work by Bruce Allen of picking someone up to compete for a spot, then moving him for some value after realizing he was going to get cut anyways. I [...]

First and foremost, Jeff Garcia played like shit. I do not how to put it more succintly than that. I do not know whether his time off (injury and that ridiculous Junior College Reunion thing) has had anything to do with it or not, but I hope it has. He was horrid.
Brian Griese on the other hand was awesome. He looked comfortable, fluid and in sync with the offense.
Our running game was pretty paltry. Michael Bennett looked solid, but Warrick Dunn and Ernest Graham got nothing going. I don’t think this is a revelation to anyone, but Graham is sllllloooooowww.
I [...]

When we originally drafted offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah in the 3rd round of this past NFL draft, I was a little perplexed. Not that I am opposed to taking taking offensive lineman or anything, but we had used a 1st, and 3rd round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, and were now using a 3rd round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft on what seemed to me to be, because of the players already on the roster, a backup offensive lineman. With Aaron Sears (LG), Jeff Faine (C), Davin Joseph (RG) and Jeremy Trueblood (RT) cemented in stone on our offensive [...]

I have been flying all day today, so I apologize for the lack of a post after our impressive win (albeit a preseason joint) vs the Pats. There are a few main things that stuck out in my mind.
On a personal note, it was great to be back in RayJay last night. I had to get up early this morning and fly, but tailgating with all of our friends from the last few seasons, as well as seeing all the same faces in my section was nice for me, even though it left me exhausted today!
Our offensive line was dominant [...]

As I predicted in my 53 man roster prediction, the Bucs have released LT Luke Petigout after he failed a physical. I think the Bucs were giving him one last chance to see if he could play with that rickety ass old body, and the failing of the physical confirmed it, he can’t. We signed some FB who won’t be on the roster in 2 and a half weeks.

The Buccaneers have always held a close affiliation with Macdill Airforce Base, and this year it appears to be no different. I know that one of my favorite things about gameday is the flyby that occurs right after the national anthem. The base is only about 15 miles south of the stadium for those of you not familiar with the Tampa area. Each game those personell that were involved in the flyby get a standing ovation at some point during the game after they announced, a bigger ovation than any play during the game or during any player introduction.
The Bucs [...]

You ever had the hypothetical question asked of you, if you could hang out/go out to dinner with 5 people, who would they be. Well here are two of my 5. Love it. Gruden looks beside himself!

I hadn’t seen this picture on the FanNation 10 Spot on Si.Com, but once I saw it today, I could not keep from laughing my ass off.

Tiger Woods visited the Bucs Monday at the team hotel in Celebration, Orlando. I’ll let the players do the talking.
DEFENSIVE BACKS COACH RAHEEM MORRIS
“As NFL guys, we don’t get star-struck much, but when you get a Tiger Woods come in who is the best at what he does, it’s unbelievable. If you can pick his brain a little bit, which I know Ronde did and some of the linebackers did, it was awesome. He was giving some messages last night. The one thing that caught everybody’s attention was about never having a mental breakdown. You can have a physical breakdown, [...]
