Ladies and gentlemen, let the games begin! This draft is about to get wild. The Redskins finding Kirk Cousins a weapon here is about to kick off a very fun chain reaction.

More from The Pewter Plank

The Redskins just made a big time move signing free agent cornerback Josh Norman, so corner isn’t a need here. However, helping Cousins is. DeSean Jackson is there, but is a shell of his former Eagles self. That being said, Jackson still offers the speed that Treadwell doesn’t have. Adding Treadwell to the mix may actually help Jackson out because teams would have to really focus on shutting Treadwell down. Defensive coordinators would typically game plan to remove Jackson from the equation all together. If Pierre Garcon beat you, then it was just your day, but coordinators could live with that. They were not going to let the only legitimate weapon on the team take over.

The Redskins would be elated to have a big receiver like Treadwell fall to them here, especially with as polished of a route runner as he is. It’s another big step for Washington as they continue to try and compete in the NFC East. Hey Kirk…you like that?
