Buccaneers Jameis Winston helping youths and veterans at home

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston continues his fine community work, both with young kids and older people.

How could the Buccaneers have drafted this Jameis Winston guy, huh? What a thug! Not a good bone in that guy’s body. Always causing trouble in the community, setting a bad example. Who ever wanted this guy leading our franchise anyway? Get rid of that bum!

Of course I am being sarcastic. Winston has been about as good of a Bucs representative as anyone could have hoped. The mainstream media, however, likes to focus on small missteps rather than the greater good. So, we are going to focus on the good things that our franchise quarterback does.

Winston got back to the community this weekend, specifically at his alma mater, Florida State University. He returned to his former school to volunteer at the first Elite Championship Camp, as reported in the Orlando Sentinel.

200 middle school students descended on FSU to participate in a football camp, free of charge, with current NFL and FSU players. Winston, in particular, got into it, helping kids in the huddle, out on the field, and even throwing some passes.

He took the time to hand out gear at the end of the Saturday session, and Sunday held an autograph session.

Winston was also able to recruit former teammates to come help out. Here is why, right from the horse’s mouth:

"“The reason that I asked my teammates to come back is because we care about the city of Tallahassee. We care about improving our youth,” Winston said. “We know that if we can improve our youth and make an impact on them that will sustain and will allow them to be the new youth, we know that our world will change.”"

Winston did more than work with kids. On Friday, he hosted a dinner in the Tallahassee area for homeless veterans. He simply continues to be a leader both on and off the field.

I told you, what a terrible guy, am I right? Who would ever want a guy leading their team with such a bad attitude?
